Are you ready? This Saturday, May 2 is National Scrapbooking Day. I'll be Spring Flinging over at the Rec Centre with Magical Memories, it's gonna be great! I am also planning to try to get a few challenges done over at Love is in the Details. They are actually having a two-weekend (May 2 and May 9) crop to celebrate NSD and LIITD'S anniversary, so I am hoping to get some done for both.
The only thing holding me back? My whole family is sick. Me included. :( Nasty colds, but they are knocking us all on our @sses. Sarah especially. My poor little girls can't lose much more weight before wasting away. :( Now I could stand to lose a few punds, but it doesn't seem to be affecting me that way. Ah, well, something to scrap about I guess.
Check back next week to see what I get done this weekend!

LIITD Spring Fling Crop
Here's what I got done for the Love is in the Details online crop I was telling ya about. Nothing incredible, and I didn't get nearly as many as I wanted done, and I haven't had a chance to get back to the ol' scrapping board, but I do really like the Jessa baby one and the Wild Thing ones. And that picture of the dragonfly on my cousins hand was perfect for Chelsea's challenge to use white space. I haven't scrapped since then because my kids have been sick (ie Jessa and Dave). I'm hoping to get back at it this weekend!
I'd like to send a YAY! out to Lisa and Melissa from LIITD, who have joined the LIITD Creative Team! Lisa, I've been waiting for this! And Melissa, I can't wait to get to know you better thru your scrapping!
I have discovered this new scrap "store" online called Peachy Cheap. They have only one item available per day, but it's an amazing deal every day! I missed the Thickers one!!!!! (it was 9 packages of Thickers for really cheap). The shipping to Canada is $5.99 US, which is usually more than the product price. Yesterday was a package each of Fancy Pants Sassy pins, crocheted flowers, and buttons, for $2.99!! I ordered one, see how it goes. It came to $8.98 US. I'll let you know the outcome. But I check every day. You should too!
We're busy getting ready for the crop at Magical Memories. It's on the same weekend as National Scrapbook Day (yes, there is such a thing Samantha LOL) and it's going to be great! Jan and I did up one of the pages last Thursday night. I love it when she starts pulling out stuff she has stashed! I'd show it to you, but you may want to sign up for the crop, so you'll have to see it then! ;)
That's all for now, Happy Scrapping! Leave me a message to tell me you were here!

Online Crop
Hey, head on over to Love is in the Details today for an online crop with Lori and her amazing Design Team. From what I understand, there is going to be a lot of inspiration, gorgeous work, and maybe a few surprises! Those girls at LIITD are pretty sneaky and I have a feeling that whatever is going down is going to be GREAT! I'm looking forward to it.
I'll be heading home from Snow Lake as early as I can on Sunday to try to make up for lost time! I have until Wednesday to catch up! Hope to see you there!

Technique Tuesday
Our latest Magical Memories Design Team assignment was to use one sheet of Technique Tuesday FUNdamentals. It's like chipboard, but "foam-ier" or something. I've been a fan of TT for a long time, and have used the FUNdamentals a couple of times, but mostly I've collected it. So armed with one sheet from FUNdamentals of Snow, and two new stamp sets from Jan, I had two ideas to start.
I wanted to use the biggest circle, with the fancy outer edge, for something different. All the examples using this made it to be a sun. I wanted something a little "classy" so I used it for this picture of Dave and I on our wedding day. I really wanted to see how embossing would work on these tiles, so I painted it black and embossed it sliver after stamping it with a circular swirl stamp. I embossed the outside of the black sparkle paper as well, and tore and embossed the sides of the vellum quote that was the verse that was said in our wedding ceremony. I tried stamping a flower and adding it, but I just didn't like the color of the flower with the stark white of the outfits.

Next, I wanted to use a picture I have of Greg floating in a pool with the two inner squiggly circles. Long story short, I abandoned that after a few days. So I used the smaller circle one for this, Jessa's first day playing outside. I used my Doodlebug flocking for the snowflakes, then TT No Two Alike mini stamps for the silver snowflakes. The blue snowflake border is from the Nature stamp set. I used a wavy border at the bottom and cut the bottom of the paper off. Kinda looks like a snowbank. Kinda. :)

Lastly, I had grabbed the straight border and the stamps that Jan gave us the first night I got it home and made the flower border, not sure if I was going to use it. I grabbed a piece of Fancy Pants, a picture of Sarah in her Snow White dress, and some stickles and ribbon, and put it together. For a quote, I just stamped on a scallop TT tile, and wrote my most profound thoughts. :)

I hope you have enjoyed my Technique Tuesday Layouts, I had a lot of fun doing them, and I will be doing a lot more stamping and maybe even some more embossing! Happy Scrapping!

Something that is pink
Having two daughters, it's a good thing that I love pink! I've had this title in my head for a long time, so when Mixer #11 over at Mix It Up was to have pictures of only "things", no people or living things, as well as a 6 or more word title, it seemed perfect. Then American Crafts challenged to use at least 3 different fonts. PERFECT! (I used Giggles, Remarks, and some blingy Shoe Box) I took some pics of all the pink we have. (including my pink stroller, which I love) Then I realized that I wasn't going to make the Tuesday midnight deadline at MIU. SO I did the LO today and threw a picture of the girls on it! :) I might not be getting under the wire for the AC one either, but I love the LO, so that's really what it's all about! Of course, it's got all the things I love-pink, Thickers, a good title, and my beautiful babies.

Thanks for looking, check back on the weekend when I'll be showing you what distracted me from getting this Layout started until today. ;) I'd love to hear from you, so before you go, click the "comment" button.

A few of the kids
Just wanted to post some of my favorites of the kids, my daughters Sarah (the redhead) and Jessa (the baby). Some of these layouts were created for the Valentine's Day crop at LIITD.

Challenges and Mixers!
I have been trying to get Sarah's chronological albums caught up so I can START Jessa's. I have the pictures and paper and all that caught up until May of last year in Sarah's (when Jessa was born) but none of the journalling is done, even back to her birth album! So I have been plugging away at that, trying not to get mixed up with Jessa's. LOL I did get a few challenges done this weekend from LIITD, and this weeks Mixer at MIU. It's the first one I completed, even though I still have the very first mixer sitting here waiting for embroidery thread. Maybe I'll do that this afternoon.
Here is the Layout I did for Mix It Up. Melanie has created an amazing inspiring blog to get the creative juices flowing. There is a new Mixer every week, with a sketch you can use if you want, and beautiful examples from the Design Team. I used the sketch this week, and took inspiration from the colors and floral theme of the pattern that was the inpiration. I've been trying to get better at embellishing, and clustering. I really like the results I got here.

This is the Layout I did for the Monthly Prize Sketch over at my favorite scrap chat on the web! It was the first time I have shrunk (shrank? Shrinkded??) a sketch, so it was very interesting to do.

This Layout was for the Product Challenge at LIITD. Chelsea challenged us to use glitter on buttons. I thought this would be a great thing to get Sarah to help me with, the glitter on the buttons. It became apparent very quickly that it was going to be SARAH doing the whole thing! SO I made this one 6x12 too, and let her go at it. She wanted to "circle" the corners, so she had a lot of fun doing that.

That's it for now. I havet o get this back room cleaned up before I can do much more scrapping. Hopefully I can tackle that today, I have some pretty intense work ahead of me for the next Magical Memories Design Team project ;) I only have until next TUESDAY to get this TECHNIQUE down. ;) ;)
